Dweorgh King of the Nibelung hoard, he guarded the Rhinegold treasure. He gave Sigmund the sword Balmung, Freo the necklace Brisingamen, Woden his ring & the magical sword Tyrfing, he loses his hoard of treasure to Loki and is overcome by Sigurd.
Alfrigg, Berling, Dvalin & Grer
The four dweorghs who created the necklace Brisingamen, which was acquired by Freo after she sleeps with them. Dvalin is also said to of been the one who introduced runes to the dweorghs.
Alvis
He created weapons for the Gods, he desired Þunor's daughter Þrud and was promised her by the Gods in return for his services. Þunor however devised a plan to prevent this marriage, he tells Alvis he has to prove his wisdom and makes the tests last until sunrise, when he turns to stone (not that wise then).

Brothers who slay the wiseman Kvasir in order to gain his magic powers by tuning his blood into the mead of poetry. They then murder the Þyr Gilling & his wife, their son Suttung threatens to kill them in revenge and so they give him this magic mead, which is eventually drunk by Woden.
Ivaldi
Dweorgh whose sons spun hair of gold for Sif at Loki's request & made Woden's spear Gungnir, and Frea's ship Skidbladnir.
