They lived in a well maintainded house owned by a farmer & artisan, they are visited by Rig one day who seduces Amma, she subsequently gives birth to Karl.

The name of two characters from the prose Grimnir's Sayings, one being the brother and the other being the son of Geirrod. Also the name of another character from the prose The Lay of Sigrdrifa, the brother of Auda.

They lived in a homestead, where they are visited by Rig who seduces Edda, she subsequently gives birth to Þrall.
Alf
A name of various characters, one is the son of Hunding (from The First Poem of Helgi Hundingsbani), another (the Old) is the son of Hring (again found in The First Poem of Helgi Hundingsbani). Another is the son of Hrodmar (from The Poem of Helgi Hiorvardsson), another is the son of King Hialprek, and second husband of Hiordis (mentioned in the prose The Death of Sinfiotli), and finally, three seperate characters named in The Song of Hyndla.

The collective name for the heroic dead, they are gathered from the battlefields by the Wælcyrige and reside in Valholl with Woden or Sessrumnir with Freo, ready to fight by the Gods' side at Ragnarok. Their days are filled with carousing & fighting.

They lived in a beautiful mansion which is visited by Rig who then seduces Modir who subsequently gives birth to Jarl.
Fafnir
Son of Hreidmar and brother of Regin, they are corrupted by the ring Andvaranaut and slay their father for his gold hoard. He is turned into a dragon to guard the hoard & prevent his brother Regin from possessing it. He is eventually slain by Sigurd.
Geirrod
A character from the prose Grimnir's Sayings, a king, son of Hraudung.
Godi
Chief or heathen priest (Englisc).
Grimhild
Queen of the Niebelungs and famed for her magic, she gives Sigurd her magic mead so he forgets about Brynhild & falls in love with Gudrun her daughter instead.
Gunnar
aka Gunner & Hogni
Brothers who own a fabulous hoard. They are bewitched by the magic ring Andvaranaut which makes them slay their friend Sigurd. They in turn are slain, Gunnar is thrown into a serpent's pit whilst playing a harp with his feet as his hands are bound, while Hogni dies laughing whilst his heart is ripped out.
Hedin, Hilda & Hogni
Hedin was the prince of a Norwegian tribe who falls in love with Hilda, the daughter of Hogni, a Jutish chieftain. Hedin and Hilda are so impressed with each other's reputation that they fall in love before meeting. Hedin and Hogni go pillaging together, and Hogni gives his daughter to Hedin promising each other that they would avenge one another if anything happened. However, Hogni hears rumours that Hedin had seduced Hilda before the betrothal. Hogni believes the lies and attacks Hedin, but Hogni was defeated and returns to Jutland. King Frodo of Denmark tries to mediate, but has to decide that the matter must be settled in a holmgang (duel). During the combat Hedin was seriously wounded, and starts bleeding badly. Hogni decides to have mercy on Hedin, as he considers it shameful to kill someone who is weaker, and so Hedin is taken home by his men. After seven years, the two men started to fight again but both die from their wounds. Hilda loves both of them so much, that she uses spells to conjure up the dead each night, and so the battle goes on and on for eternity.

A great hero who will lead the fallen heroes from Valholl at Ragnarok.
Hengest & Horsa
The brothers who lead the settlement of England, although mentioned as historical figures it's possible they originate from Gods. Tacitus (the Roman historian) mentions a Germanic cult that worshiped twin Gods, belived to be Horse Gods and the name Hengest means 'stallion' and Horsa means 'horse'. Many Germanic people trace their lines back to twins or brothers, Anglo-Saxon royal lines trace theirs to Hengest and Horsa. Horsa was said to of been slain in battle at Ayelsford around 455, and Hengest became King of Kent (which still has a horse as it's symbol).
Hreidmar
aka Reidmar
A magician & farmer, father of Otter, Fafnir & Regin. He was given the Dweorgh Alberich's gold hoard by the gods in payment for the slaying of his son Otter, he is eventually slain by Fafnir & Regin for it.
Iormunrekk
King of the Goths and husband of Svanhild, who has her trampled to death out of jealousy.

Son of Rig & Amma, he married Snor and their descendants formed the race of peasants (freemen).

Legendary hero of Icelandic Sagas, who slays dragons amongst others.

Wife of Hogni, mentioned in the Greenlandic Poem of Atli.
Kullervo
Powerful sorcerer who unwittingly despoils his sister, he is denied love throughout his life he finally throws himself on his sword.
Lif & Lifthrasir

They are destined to be the only couple to survive the destruction after Ragnarok by hiding in Hodmimir's forest, which could not be destroyed by Surt's flaming sword. They sleep through the destruction & wake in the new world where they will be the progenitors of the new human race.
Loddfafnir
Mortal who manages to visit the Well of Urd (fate) & stay in Valholl learning the wisdom of the Gods.
Nidud

King of the Niars who captures and hamstrings Welund (who subsequently slays his sons & defiles his daughter in revenge).
Ottar
Protege of Freo, and descendant of Sigurd, he is turned into a boar by Freo so she could keep him in Asgard.
Otter
Son of Hreidmar, he is slain by Loki in error after he was turned into an otter by his father in order to catch fish.
Regin
Step father of Sigurd and brother of Fafnir, along with his brother he slays his father Hreidmar for the hoard of gold he acquired. He reforges the sword Balmung for Sigurd so he could slay his brother Fafnir (who had turned into a dragon) in order to get back the hoard after Fafnir takes it. He in turn is slain by Sigurd after he plots to kill him.
Siggeri
King of the Goths, he slays Volsung's sons (except Sigmund) and marries Signy (Volsung's daughter), he is slain by Sigmund & Signy in revenge.
Sigmund
aka, Siegmund
One of the sons of Volsung, he drew the magic sword from the Branstock oak, with this sword he
won fame throughout Scandinavia. He is captured by Siggeir (his brother-in-law) along with his father & nine brothers, they are bound to forest trees to be prey to the beasts of the forest. Only Sigmund escaped by bitting off a wolf's tongue, he then sought vengence on his kinsman & with the help of his sister Signy slays him.
Signy
Daughter of Volsun who marries Siggeir, and sister of Sigmund (she bore him a son, Sinfiotli, after seducing him when in disguise & tricking him). She helps her brother avenge their sibling's & father's deaths in slaying Siggeir, she dies in Siggeir's burning palace.
Sigurd
aka Siegfried
Son of Sigmund, foster son of Regin. Hero who slays Fafnir (after he had turned into a dragon) to regain the hoard of gold for his step father. Disguised himself as Gunnar to rescue the Valkyrie Brunhilde (who then married Gunnar).

Son of Sigmund & Signy.
Snor
Wife of Karl whose descendants formed the race of peasants.

Wicce, Wicca
aka Hæste, Hægtesse, Witch
Spellcaster, Wicce (female), Wicca (Male). Mostly associated with women who are usually beautiful and sometimes wicked. These would be highly regarded by the tribe as they would seem to be able to alter fate. Most healers were women and were seen as having the ability to bring people back from the dead, a beautiful woman could easily alter fate by using her powers to influence warriors and kings, all these abilities were seen as powers, and those with these powers were therefore said to be Wicce.
